Why my orders are marked as fulfilled?

How automatically fulfilled orders appear in Oberlo:

Using the Oberlo application, you can import and sell items that can be found on  AliExpress.com website or Oberlo Supply product database.

Once you receive an order in your Shopify store, it has to show up on Oberlo “Orders” page as unfulfilled with the orange “Order product” button next to it.

If you have received an order which contains products from AliExpress.com, your order needs to look like Order #1043 in the screenshot below.

If your order is marked as fulfilled and doesn’t have an Ali Order No. or tracking number assigned to it (see Order #1044 below), this means that you have not yet purchased the item from the supplier.

If you have received an order which contains products from Oberlo Supply database, your order needs to look like Order #1045 in the screenshot below.

If your order is marked as fulfilled and the status of the order is yellow “To order” (see Order #1046 below), this means that you have not yet purchased the item from the supplier.


How to cancel the order fulfillment in Shopify:

Order fulfillment issues normally happen because of two reasons:

  • You have clicked "Fulfill items" on Shopify > Orders page. You do not need to do this on Shopify, as Oberlo will automatically do this for you later.

  • An auto-fulfillment setting is enabled in Shopify. In order to fix this, go to Shopify > Settings > Checkout section.

Under the "Order processing" section select "Do not automatically fulfill any of the order's line items." Disable automatic fulfillment, and things will work fine with all your future orders.

You can also disable automatic fulfillment directly through Oberlo application if you get a notification as shown in the screenshot below.

As for the orders, you have already received, you need to cancel their fulfillment through Shopify Admin. Just click on the order number in Oberlo to be directed to the same order on Shopify platform, scroll down till “Fulfillments” section, click on “More” and then “Cancel fulfillment”.

The order status will be changed  from fulfilled to unfulfilled in Oberlo and the orange "Order Product" button will appear next to the order. You will be able to purchase the item from the supplier by clicking this button.
